I often find myself in a cloudy state, ignorant of my physical relationship with the world. Yet fully aware of its weight upon my shoulders. It is better to live in dark dreams rather than face the sun outside. At least that’s what I’ve told myself.
This painting is about the dissociative state of depression. How everything is bliss on the surface when beneath there’s a thundering rain cloud, threatening to cause a storm at any minute.
